Who are these: Then call themselves, “THE BILLIONAIRES CLUB.”
During their college years in the mid-80s, they were part of a privileged group of freshmen whose parents were among the wealthy elite in a small town in Northern California. Atherton is in San Mateo County and has a population of only 6500 people. Average income is over 350,000.00. These spoiled children are the wealthiest in the entire county.
College life was nothing more than an excuse to party. One of the group, Betty Davis, thought it would be nice if they all got together for a week at an exclusive spa in Carmel, California. On the third day, poolside, Zeb issued a challenge to the group. “
“This is what I’m thinking. College is a bust. If we can pool our yearly gift money from our parents, invest it in a startup I heard about from one of the nerds.”
During that week, they raised 460,000.00 from everyone, with the understanding that regardless of how much each pitched in, the investment would be counted equally.
Over the next three years, Mellencamp Industries skyrocketed on the stock exchange, making its founders extremely wealthy.
Ten years later, The Billionaires Club had its yearly gathering in France at a rented Chateau. Louis Rijos' conversation turned to his son's recent announcement that he had become a Christian. What is going on with these kids today, all this awakening stuff. I have no idea what to think.
Ben said, “Wait a minute, maybe these kids have the right idea, religion can be a lift in people's lives”. Why don’t we have this stuff in ours? We have everything else.”
Zeb chimes in, “Ya but what religion”
That is when the challenge started. For the next six months they gathered to see what religion would fit the Billionaires Club.
Their final conclusion is as follows.
They would have a contest. Which religion would work the hardest to gain their approval and get the Club to attend their religious group for the next three years. That would be a financial gain in offerings upward of two million a year. Who would win and at what price?
They would gather these religions on the 1st of July for a debate. They would call it, “The Great Religion Debate.” It would be televised on CNCS Television starting at 6:00 PM
Debaters were researched, nothing but the best teachers of each of the chosen religions.
